We’re excited to open nominations for the next IIBA South Florida Chapter Board. This is your opportunity to help shape our community’s direction for the year ahead

Key Dates (2025)

  • Nominations Open: Monday, October 6, 2025 (12:01 AM ET)
  • Nominations Close: Friday, October 24, 2025 (11:59 PM ET)
  • Nomination Committee Review & Candidate Approval: by Friday, October 31, 2025
  • Election (in person at the AGM): Thursday, November 13, 2025, 6:00–8:00 PM ET
  • Official Term Start for Elected Roles: Thursday, January 1, 2026

Who Can Run?

To be eligible as a Board candidate, you must:
  • Be an active IIBA® Global member in good standing, and
  • Be an IIBA South Florida Chapter member in good standing as of Friday, October 24, 2025, and
  • Be nominated by a member or self-nominate within the nomination window.
“Good standing” means current dues paid and no outstanding Chapter disciplinary actions.

Open Roles for 2025

  • Treasurer (incumbent running for re-election)
  • Vice President, Professional Development (incumbent running for re-election)
  • Secretary
  • Vice President, Sponsorship
  • Vice President, Event Planning
Friendly note: To help us fill critical needs, we especially welcome nominations for Secretary, VP, Sponsorship, and VP, Event Planning. That said, all roles are open, and contested elections are welcome—please nominate where you feel called to serve.
Time commitment: Most roles involve 4–8 hours/month, monthly board meetings, and additional time around events/initiatives.

How to Nominate (Oct 6–Oct 24)

Submit the Nomination Form during the window with:
  1. Nominee Info: Full name, email, phone, LinkedIn (optional)
  2. Role(s) of Interest (from the list above)
  3. Membership Confirmation: IIBA Global Member ID (if known)
  4. Short Bio (150–200 words) highlighting experience & Chapter involvement
  5. Statement of Interest (up to 250 words): Why you want to serve & priorities for the role
  6. Conflict of Interest Disclosure (yes/no; if yes, brief description)
  7. Endorsement (optional): Supporter(s) from the Chapter (name/email)
Self-nominations are welcome. If nominating someone else, we’ll contact them to confirm acceptance.
 

Review & Approval (by Oct 31)

The Nomination Committee will verify:
  • Membership status and role eligibility
  • Completeness/clarity of materials
  • Any disclosed conflicts of interest (and reasonable mitigation)
Outcome: Nominees will be notified via email whether they are approved as candidates. Approved candidates will be listed on this page with their bios and statements of interest.

Candidate Showcase (Optional but Encouraged)

Approved candidates may provide:
  • A headshot (PNG/JPG)
  • A 100-word platform summary (for our website & AGM slides)
We’ll publish candidate bios and platform summaries ahead of the AGM to help members make informed decisions.

Voting Process (Nov 13 at the AGM)

  • Who can vote: In-person AGM attendees who are IIBA Global + IIBA South Florida members in good standing as of Friday, October 24, 2025.
  • Verification: Please bring a photo ID or show your LinkedIn profile and provide the email tied to your IIBA membership for check-in.
  • Ballot: Paper or secure digital ballot issued at check-in (one per eligible voter).
  • Method: One vote per eligible member per contested role.
  • Counting: Votes are counted by two Nomination Committee members (and one Board observer) immediately after balloting.
  • Results: Announced at the end of the AGM and posted on our website within 48 hours. Winners will also be notified by email.

Quorum & Outcomes

  • Quorum: Established by the number of eligible members present at the AGM.
  • Majority: Candidate with the most votes wins (simple plurality).
  • Ties: If a tie occurs, a run-off vote will be conducted immediately among attendees for that role.

Code of Conduct & Campaigning

  • Positive, professional, and respectful engagement is required at all times.
  • Chapter email lists and member data may not be used for personal campaigning.
  • The Chapter may provide equal-opportunity channels (e.g., a candidate web page or a shared Q&A) to ensure fairness.

After the Election

  • Onboarding: Newly elected Board members will receive an onboarding package (bylaws, role charters, calendar, tools access).
  • Transition Window: A structured transition will begin within two weeks of the AGMno later than Thursday, November 20, 2025—including hand-offs, shadowing, credential access, and calendar invites.
  • Official Start Date: Incoming officers officially assume their roles on Thursday, January 1, 2026. (Re-elected incumbents continue without interruption.)
  • First Meeting: The new Board’s first official meeting will be scheduled in January 2026.
